My name is Suzanne and I’m passionate about weightlifting, health for life, and sharing what I know. This blog is for beginners and experienced lifters alike – anyone who wants to get RESULTS through exercise and healthy eating. I’m a NASM-certified personal trainer and ACE-certified small group training instructor who offers online personal training services and trains clients in person too.
Although I’ve been lifting weights for over 15 years, I’ve never considered myself “athletic” and didn’t participate in sports in school. I had to wear special braces to correct problems in my legs and feet when I was two and never felt strong or particularly well-coordinated.
It wasn’t until I started weightlifting that I gained not only strength, defined muscles, and more neuromuscular control, but also increased self-confidence and body love. My writing background, passion for fitness, and professional experience allow me not only coach people online and in person, but write about share that passion.
In the past few years I have overcome a fear of hurting myself after a neck injury; won a long-standing battle with digestive problems; and have felt stronger than I ever have in my life. I love being a woman in the weight room and helping YOU not only become comfortable there but get amazing results.
I believe that to see changes in your body you need to love the exercise you choose to do. I also believe women should not be afraid of strutting their stuff, which means loving their body in private and public. Every woman should be able to show pride and body self-acceptance without being afraid what others say or think. Let’s celebrate each other’s inner and outer beauty and teach our children to do the same. My mantra is support and admiration, not envy.
